HOW THE PRESTO ADVENTURE CAME TO BE:
It all started with Family...
My name is Alana Mackay. I am the mother of the very best 4 grown children, soon to be grandma of 1, wife to a wonderful husband, Aunt to some fantastic nieces and nephews, and the Greatest of Great Aunts to a bunch of super great nephews and nieces ---
OH, and I am a piano teacher of... (I can hardly believe it...) over 30 years!
A while ago, I was asked to teach online piano lessons to my great nephews who live half-way across the country. Although I have taught online lessons in the past, I find them significantly less effective than in person - especially when it comes to beginner piano which can be, let's face it, a bit on the boring side.
My great nephews, like most other children these days, are busy - homeshool, hockey, horse riding, soccer, baseball, swimming, children's choir, Sunday School, plus just being kids.
Wanting my great nephews to succeed and develop a love for music, I embarked on a mission to create a fun program just for them. It would have to be a program with a story and a little adventure, a treasure map (obviously), and of course - treasure! (Well - stickers, and a fun little paw print charm bracelet)
What began as a homeschool piano program designed specifically for my great nephews ended up becoming an adventure to share with you.
